Sunflower County Ministerial Alliance Counseling Services, Inc. (SCMACS) began as a vision—a dream to breathe new life into the communities of Indianola, MS, and surrounding areas. Founded by Rev. Phillip McGee, Mrs. Mary McGee, Mrs. Mildred Chance, and Rev. Edward Thomas, SCMACS was built on the belief that faith, love, and compassion can heal even the most broken lives. What started as an idea is now a thriving mission to restore hope, rebuild lives, and revitalize communities through faith-based counseling.

SCMACS is dedicated to serving the residents of Sunflower, Humphreys counties and surrounding areas by addressing some of the community’s most pressing challenges. The organization focuses on providing transformative counseling services for repeat criminal offenders and those struggling with issues like domestic violence and substance abuse. Through its comprehensive 12-month rehabilitation counseling program, SCMACS offers individuals the tools and support they need to turn their lives around. The program also provides critical follow-up counseling for those recently released from jail, ensuring they have the resources to reintegrate successfully into society.

SCMACS has expanded its services since its creation to include counseling for dysfunctional families, recognizing the importance of strengthening family bonds in building a healthier community. The organization is guided by an executive board and board members consisting of ten dedicated individuals who share a passion for service and community revitalization.

With a foundation rooted in faith and a mission driven by love, SCMACS continues to be a beacon of hope for those seeking healing and transformation. Together, they are working to create a brighter future for Sunflower and Humphreys counties, one life at a time.
